True Origin Story (Part Two)
WEAR IT ON YOUR CHEST, “Life Is a Process.”
PEMA “Ghetto Builders (and Stoned and Plastered) tee shirt designs are a whimsical parody of lifelong projects. They originated from two work crews that helped build my family’s home. The work was impeccable, and I saw an opportunity to learn, so I asked for a small job. I was given the responsibility to frame a wall. The result was so bad that laughter broke out as soon as they saw the poor quality. I quickly named my imaginary construction company Ghetto Builders, and I gave it the slogan, “We Get It Right The Second Time.” From there, I started using the term because it easily applied to how we (people) can experience life as a comedy of errors.
