The True Origin Story (part one)

As the homeowner general contractor for an addition and remodel of the home illustrated at the bottom of D1 I was informed by a reliable source about two brothers who were highly skilled who could quickly frame the new addition. I was warned that they would likely arrive and or leave, drunk, but that I should overlook it. Although hesitant I hired them, along with a second small crew to remodel the existing home. One the first day the leader of that crew asked if it was ok for them to smoke pot before the start of the day. I smiled and said yes. Some weeks later I stood back admiring the quality of work from both crews. I looked at the smokers and said “they as stoned and the framers are plastered. After than when people asked who built my home I’d respond STONED AND PLASTERED. (Pete)

Two short personal stories behind The PEMA brand and the product name

My grandmother raised me, my sister and two aunts as brother and sisters. A highly religious woman, she never turned anyone away. As the youngest I was captivated by one friend who often came around staggering because of how drunk he was. When sober, she would allow Elliot Tiller to take me places, and I don’t recall ever seeing him drink while we were together. In the winter, Mr. Ellot, as we called him, had one job that my grandmother entrusted him with while she was at work. It was to light the fire in the living room to make sure we were warm. I recall several times him arriving staggering, but he always showed up. I don’t know how he started the fire when he arrived, but there were times he felt it was so dangerous that he’d ask us children to stand outside away from the house until he called us. I vividly recall crying harder at Mr. Ellot’s funeral than some family members. The impression he made, as well as the influence of my grandmother and others helped shape me into someone who believes in acceptance and dialog. Overcoming struggles isn’t easy, and rarely successful when attempted alone.

I also recall my grandmother was just a likely to seek a medicine from her garden or yard as she was to seek medical attention for members of the family. That was the beginning of my appreciation for plant medicines. Something that i went on the study. And, while I have not needed it to use medical pot, it is one of earths plants thats shunned by some, and respected by others. (Pete)
